Bill Windsor began selling screenprinted and embroidered sportswear as a college student in 1969. In 1977, he created and launched IMPRESSIONS Magazine, the magazine for the imprinted sportswear industry. There was no such industry in 1977; Bill coined the term "imprinted sportswear," and with the creation of IMPRESSIONS Magazine and the industry trade shows, the Imprinted Sportswear Shows, Bill is considered the father of the imprinted sportswear industry.
